Blogging my Ancestors…

It’s been awhile since you’ve heard from me.  Life gets in the way sometimes as we all know.  Genealogy is something that can flow like water, for me the pond has been very flat of late due to my health but now the waves are flowing again.   Life is coming back to my normal, thank goodness.  The water will be getting a bit stormy later this month as I head to Scotland for my tour of ancestors. I mean this in the most positive wave, I  am totally  excited to be able to walk in my ancestors footsteps as I visit their fermtoun’s (a small cluster of houses and outbuildings) villages and cities, churches and graveyards.

Hopefully you will enjoy the trip with me as I will be blogging along with way.  Actually taking my viewers with me.  Let me know if you have any ancestors in the villages I get through.

Where do your ancestors come from in Scotland?  If there are near where I’ll be and if I see them in the cemetery I can shoot you a picture.  Have you used Scotlandspeople.gov.uk?  It’s one of my favorite sites, so very useful to gathering those ancestors.

Locations will be: Aberchirder,  Alvah, Arbroath, Balmerino, Crail, Ceres, Ferry port on Craig, Falkland, Fordyce, Grange, Kilconquhar, Largo,  Leuchars, Lintrathen, Marnoch, Kennoway, Kinfauns, Macduff, Rafford are just a few this time round.
